A song that everyone can sing is a good song to cover. 

Stand by Me was written by Ben E. King, Jerry Leiber, and Mike Stoller. Did you know that this classic soul tune makes reference to Psalm 46? Many people have covered this song since it first debuted in 1961, including the late American boxer and activist Muhammad Ali.

Other notable covers include versions by Otis Redding, Tracy Chapman, John Lennon, Florence and the Machine, and Seal.
